We're excited to be offering agriculture classes this school year at Mountain View High School!
Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of your experience in the Mountain View Agriculture Program:
Join the FFA!
Through the agriculture program there are some awesome opportunities to learn how our food and other products are produced. You will also have the opportunity to be a member of the FFA. Every day, FFA members all over the state and nation are becoming better leaders, winning awards by applying the knowledge they gain in class to competitions, developing career skills, serving their communities, and making friends in their schools, state and from around the nation!
Plan on taking an Ag Class Every Year!
You must be enrolled in an agriculture class to be an FFA member, and each agriculture class and year as an FFA member is designed to build on what you've learned in the previous years. So to get the most of the program you should plan to take an agriculture class every year!
Sign Up for Summer Agriculture!
Stay involved and get a head start on your success in FFA by participating in Summer Ag. You can earn .5 elective credit to go towards graduation by participating - and you won't even have to sit in a classroom!
It's easy! Just fill out THIS FORM and Miss Baadsgaard will contact you. It's not hard to come up with a project - in fact, you may already have one and not even know it! If you're growing a garden, learning to take care of yards, raising animals, have a job, or are involved in any other activity that involves plants, animals, food or fibers, you have a great start to having a qualifying project!
In addition to earning credit for having a project, we will be participating in some fun field trips, leadership conferences, and activities throughout the summer. Bring your friends or plan on making some new ones to make it a fun summer! If you signed up for an agriculture class for next year Miss Baadsgaard will be contacting you this summer to see if you would like to participate.
